The builder
Built by someone who actually builds them.
Cyriously Slick Designs exists because Dean Cyr spent years doing BBC builds the hard way — and decided no one should have to anymore.
Dean Cyr has been building engines since most people his age were still figuring out driver's ed. He picked up metal fabrication at 14, sharpened it professionally at Eastern Metal, and never stopped. Decades later, he's a certified Holley tuner with a specific obsession: Big Block Chevy.
The problem he kept running into was the same one every serious BBC builder knows. Every EFI system on the market was designed for something else and adapted to fit. The crank and cam sensing — the part everything else depends on — was always an afterthought. External sensors bolted into compromised positions. Wiring routed around parts it shouldn't be near. Signal accuracy left on the table.
So he built something that didn't exist. A crank and cam sensor kit engineered from the ground up for Big Block Chevy — integrated into a polished billet aluminum timing cover, eliminating the distributor entirely, and delivering the kind of signal accuracy the engine actually deserves. Then he built the rest of the system around it: the right EFI, the right display, the right hardware.
The result is patent pending. And it's the only system like it anywhere.
